Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge: Done!
May 29, 2019
Last weekend an intrepid team of 14 walkers & 2 support crew completed the Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge.
The Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge, takes in the three peaks of Wales: Snowdon in the North, Cadair Idris in mid-Wales, and Pen y Fan in the South. It includes a total walking distance of 17 miles (27.4km) and an ascent of 2334 metres (7657ft), in less than 24-hours.
The original target was to raise £2,000 towards the cost of drilling a borehole that will provide clean water for a school in DR Congo. At the time of writing this post, the team has raised an amazing £3,619, just a few pounds short of the revised target of £4,000 which will enable not only a borehole but the building of a complete well.
We have partnered up with The NHS Dolphin Centre in Tunbridge Wells to help raise funds for providing clean water for the Kimbilio school for Congo Children Trust because good clean water is essential for life and health.
Please, will you help us help them?
Managing Director Claire Fenwick (pictured above Right) commented “I try to keep fit, but it was still a real challenge. We’d done a few practice walks around the North Downs of England. However Pen y Fan is used as a training route for the SAS, so we had an idea it was going to be tough.
It was a very long day as we began walking at 4am, after a 3am breakfast! We finally completed the challenge at Pen-y-Fan at 10pm with all of the team returning home in 1 piece and just a few blisters.
We are delighted to have raised such a huge sum of money for the Kimbilio Children and thanks to everyone who has supported us to help them. You can still donate by following the link below”
