GeoBusiness 2019: Shaping the future

June 18, 2019

We sent along some of our team to GeoBusiness 2019 to find out what is new in the world of Geo-Spatial.

GeoBusiness 2019, held on the 21st-22nd of May, was the largest Geo-Spatial conference to be held in the UK this year. It welcomed over 3,000 delegates from 56 countries.

For us, it is a chance to investigate what new Geo-Spatial products and tools are emerging and engage with suppliers. This year saw over 200 international exhibitors in attendance showcasing a range of products across BIM, Earth Observation, GIS & Big Data, Instrumentation & Monitoring, Laser Scanning, UAVs , Visualisation, AR & VR

It was also the public launch of the new Get Kids into Survey poster, featuring our very own Skylar the Eagle. Our team enjoyed posing for photos with the #GetKidsIntoSurvey team.

It was also good to catch up with some of our existing supplier’s Apps in Cadd, SCCS and Leica Geosystems. We were interested to hear about the new features in the firmware and software updates which are now available.

There was a packed program of seminars & workshops. Covering various industry sectors, we visited Architecture, Engineering & Construction, Asset Management, Education, Heritage, and Utilities.

With equipment theft sadly becoming a major issue for surveyors, we found the theft prevention seminar really informative.

Networking with our peers has been a feature of previous shows and this year was no exception. We had lots of opportunities to talk to other Geo-Spatial survey firms from all over the UK and discuss collaboration.

“Our clients rely on us to deliver innovative methods and techniques to help them with their challenges. Attending GeoBusiness ensures we continue to be at the forefront of new technology, in an industry that is changing rapidly. By sending a team we were able to cover more seminars, topics and see more products.”
