Talking Innovation at Constructing Excellence.

July 14, 2016

Spatial Dimensions were delighted to talk innovation in the built environment, at Constructing Excellence “Day of Innovation” yesterday.

A packed agenda

A busy day of ideas, at the university of Canterbury, saw delegates and speakers from across the construction supply chain met to discuss innovation in the industry. The day was organised by the Kent branch of Constructing Excellence.

Spatial Dimensions, MD Claire Fenwick opened the presentations with a short talk on the history of land surveying & the benefits of laser scanning in the built environment. The talk highlighted the large time and cost savings to be had using this technology. A live laser scan was conducted with delegates being shown the raw point cloud later in the day.

A series of other speakers from across the industry talked about and demonstrated a number of brilliant ideas and products that can save time, reduce emissions and lower costs all in line with the Government Construction 2025 agenda. Full details are on the CE website (See below)

Live laser scan

Later in the day, Claire and Rob presented the results of the live laser scan on stage for the delegates, which demonstrated the speed and accuracy  of our laser scanning services and answered questions from the audience.

Claire Fenwick commented, “Yesterday’s event was excellent, we were thrilled to be involved and pleased that so many delegates saw the benefits that laser scanning can bring to construction projects.”

“Constructing excellence provides a superb forum for the construction supply chain to meet and discuss ideas. Our thanks go out to them for their continued hard work and enthusiasm.”
