Team Triathlon relay in aid of Freedom From Abuse

November 24, 2021

This year Spatial Dimensions are tackling a ‘team Triathlon relay’ at Olympic distances in support of the #Care4Christmas campaign.

Since joining forces with the fabulous Kent business women involved in the Freedom from abuse #Care4Christmas campaign , the team have been coming up with suggestions on how to raise funds for this worthy cause.

It was decided that a few of the Spatial staff would take part in a ‘team Triathlon relay’  and between us, we will complete 3 rounds of the Olympic distances involved.

Please support us by sponsoring our efforts via The Kent Community Foundation website.

The distances of an Olympic distance Triathlon are :-

  • SWIM 0.93-mile (1.5 km)
  • BIKE 24.8-mile (40 km)
  • RUN 6.2-mile (10 km)

To see why we are supporting this campaign, Claire Fenwick explains below

What the Donations Will Be Used for

To get an idea of how the money can be used:

  • £15 could pay for a set of pyjamas and underwear for a child who has fled violence.
  • £20 can buy a set of plates, bowls and cutlery for a young mum moving in/out of sheltered accommodation.
  • £30 could provide an hour of counselling for a child or mother to help deal with their trauma.
  • £40 will pay for the costs of fostering a dog for a month.
  • £50 can buy arts and crafts needed for one of our children’s recovery programmes or a kitchen starter kit for a family resettling from refuge.
  • £100 can fund a fun day out for children and young people who have lived with domestic abuse or a pre-loved bed and new mattress for a client resettling.
  • £150 could pay for 10 hours of counselling to help someone recover from the trauma they’ve experienced.
